Fire & Ashes: The Death of Solthera
About the Game
- MUD (Multi-User Dungeon): A text-based multiplayer RPG in the tradition of the early online worlds. Explore rooms, fight monsters, talk to other players, or simply hang out and see what happens.
- Multiplayer: Share the world with other players and shape it through your actions. Everyone connects to the same server (currently running on a Raspberry Pi).
- Accessible: Many actions are presented as numbered choices, so you can simply type the number of the action you want to take instead of memorizing a long list of commands. However, some commands are not presented as choices, such as
ito view your inventory, cto view your character stats, andsto speak — for example,s Hello, stranger. - Permadeath: Characters die permanently, unless resurrected.
- Logout Death: Logging out permanently ends your character's story. They will not return, but their belongings remain.
- In Development: Fire & Ashes is currently an early prototype. The world resets whenever the server restarts; persistence may be introduced later.
Rules & Inspiration
Fire & Ashes is loosely based on the System Reference Document (SRD) underlying D&D 5th Edition. Currently with no explicit character classes or levels.
